South Korea – U.S. Marine Corps joint military exercises (2013 Ssangyong Exercises)

US and South Korean marines participate in a US-South Korea joint landing operation drill in Pohang, about 370 km southeast of Seoul. Tension has been fuelled by North Korean anger over the imposition of UN sanctions after its last nuclear arms test in February.

South Korean Marine LVT-7 landing craft sail to shores in a smoke screen during the US-South Korea joint military exercises called Ssangyong 2013 as part of their two-month-long Foal Eagle military exercises in Pohang, south of Seoul, South Korea.
