The worlds largest international maritime exercise called RIMPAC, Rim of the Pacific, took place last week. A number of nations took part in the exercise conducted on a biennial basis from the Hawaiian Islands and Pearl Harbour.
A wealth of nations took part in RIMPAC this year including: Chile, Colombia, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Tonga, and the United Kingdom, among others.
The entire exercise is split up into three phases: Harbour, Force Integration Training and Free Play Phases. Each of the different phases are designed to test the task force against different scenarios and leadership skills.
