British Army Exercise Black Storm April 2015

The British Army’s Exercise Black Storm is a combination of the Reserves and Regular army training together. In this operation the group trained on Salisbury Plain Training Area with fire support groups.

Three Rifle platoons were made up of integrated regular and reserve sections from A Company 1 Rifles and their 6 Rifles counterparts.

1 Rifles Mortar Platoon and a Fire Support Team from 29 Cdo Royal Artillery provided fire support for the training operation.

The main aim of the exercise was to conduct a company level advance to contact at night with real time mortar fire support and Live flanking and overhead fire guns. A section of 1 Rifles Recce platoon also supported the exercise by giving their specific expertise.
