South Korean and US Military Forces Conduct Live Fire Exercises

As tensions grew between North and South Korea last week, both the South Korean and US military held live fire exercises in a show of force to the North.

The exercises were designed to display their readiness if the North decided to attack.

Various pieces of military hardware were showcased to the waiting media including fighter jets, attack helicopters and artillery pieces.

Tensions were at breaching point over an exchange of fire at the guarded border between the two countries last Thursday.

Since then Seoul and Pyongyang have agreed a truce.
